The man behind the most advanced electric drivetrain in the motorcycle industry, Jure Tomažič.
Jure, tell us about yourself.
I have been a full time electric engineer for the past 17 years and did electronics for about 10 years prior to that as a hobby. Most of my professional carrier I have worked in the aerospace industry, mostly on propulsion system for highly efficient quiet hybrid and all-electric airplanes. I can ride anything on two wheels, weather it has pedals, batteries or pistons.
What are you most proud of at Flux?
Having built a prototype MX bike with very few resources and getting a very positive feedback from some of the top riders in the MX community.
For the average rider who doesn’t know much about electric drivetrains, can you explain in simple terms what makes Flux different from the competition?
Flux focuses on making high-end bikes with their performance being the main focus. The bikes are heavily weight optimized, without sacrificing power, endurance and handling. At the same time, we do not sacrifice reliability, ease of maintenance and cost of space parts.
What is your story with Flux as one of the co-founders?
Although I have worked in the aerospace industry for most of my professional career, I have always wanted to work on other electric-powered vehicles as well. I have been a bike, scooter and motorcycle rider for many years and wanted to make a technological contribution to this community as well.
Where do you see Flux in the future?
Our vision is clear: we don’t just want to be another electric brand, we want to set the benchmark. First in dirtbikes, then on the roads and commutes as well. The goal is simple to create motorcycles that outperform gas in every category that matters to riders.
